Boston Celtics Headline: The Celtics have been the best team wire to wire this season, at least by record. They are 12-2 in the playoffs, although the concern is that they have not been battle-tested by a weak and injury-plagued Eastern Conference.
Dallas Mavericks Headline: The only thing being talked about Kyrie Irving is his on the court play, and that play has been sensational this year. Kyrie defers to Luka at the appropriate time, but he can also take over a game when needed. Speaking of Luka, does he have an argument for best player in the NBA today?
NBA Finals
(1) Boston Celtics vs (5) Dallas Mavericks
The Boston Celtics are a pretty big favorite heading into the NBA Finals and I understand why. Boston has only lost two playoff games and Kristaps Porzingis will return for the Finals, and that will be a game changer for this team. Many thought they could make the Finals without Porzingis, but to beat the West’s best he would need to be in the lineup. The Dallas Mavericks will matchup well with the Celtics though and this Finals should be a competitive series. The Mavericks lost 14 more games than the Celtics in the regular season, but what truly matters is how the teams are playing now. Luka and Kyrie led their team past the star-studded Clippers, the top-seeded Thunder, and a favored Timberwolves team that knocked off the defending champs. The Mavs are rolling and I have them continuing their roll. Luka Doncic will be the best player on the floor this series and will bring Dallas their second Larry O’Brien trophy in franchise history.
Prediction: Dallas Mavericks 4-2
