Indiana Pacers Headline: You can say what you want about this Pacers’ team not having stars, but they are an excellent team, in the purest definition of the word. They play hard and together and have been fun to watch from Tyrese Haliburton down to T.J. McConnell. Rick Carlisle is an NBA Champion coach and knows what he is doing. Do not underestimate Indiana.
Oklahoma City Thunder: This team has been the frontrunner in the NBA essentially wire to wire. Heading into the season they were many peoples picks to win the Western Conference and they have lived up to that lofty expectation. OKC is extremely young, well-coached, and has the NBA MVP leading the way. With arguably the best team defense in decades, no opponent has been able to figure them out yet.
NBA Finals
(1) Oklahoma City Thunder vs (4) Indiana Pacers
And then there were two! The Thunder are heavy betting favorites heading into the NBA Finals and why shouldn’t they be. They won 18 more games than the Pacers in the regular season and have been dominant throughout these playoffs. OKC has disciplined defenders that can guard multiple positions and is led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the league MVP. One thing to note however, is that Indiana has the second best record since January 1st (including the playoffs), only behind OKC. The Pacers have played inspired ball as of late and the unselfishness is infectious. Tyrese Haliburton has announced himself as a superstar and he has a Championship winning coach in Rick Carlise, and running mate in Pascal Siakam. That experience should not be overlooked. Will the lights be too bright for this young Thunder team? Can Indiana’s high-flying offense break OKC’s brick-wall defense?
Predication: Oklahoma City Thunder 4-2
